'This session is part of all three phases of my second block of training. The bungee cord is being used to create an increasing tension and therefore higher requirement to utilise muscle fibres to drive and accelerate through 30m. Pick up has been one of my weaknesses in the last few seasons of competition but since using the bungee cord it has made a huge difference. A usual session for this would be 3 sets of 3 sprints. Have a 4 1/2 min rest between runs and 10mins between sets. On the second or third set, perform the first sprint without the bungee cord and increase the distance to 40m. This should make you feel really quick through the second half of the 40m. Rest 5-6mins and then perform the next sprints with the bungee cord and rest periods as normal.'
