'We sat down with Heather Deeth, our Ethical Buying Manager for Lush North America to discuss our regenerative farm in Guatemala. Guatemala has long been devastated by the demand for a number of resources, particularly sugarcane, cattle and palm oil. Land is cleared to create these monoculture crops, and the result can be everything from soil erosion and deforestation to massive landslides that claim lives, homes and other farms. In 2014, our Ethical Buying Team began working with local communities and farms to regenerate degraded land while producing ingredients for our own products including cocoa, vanilla, avocado and coconut in ethical ways. With every regenerative project we take on, we have three goals in mind: 1. Put more trees in the ground 2. Put more money in the hands of farmers 3. Build an ethical business that can grow ingredients with 100 percent transparency Read more about our regenerative farms: http://bit.ly/2IRBTU6 Love Lush?
