'8th Anniversary Of The European Ban On Animal Testing For Cosmetics'

'Happy Banniversary 2021! We\'re celebrating the 8th anniversary of the European ban on animal testing for cosmetics, nicknamed the ‘Banniversary’ by Cruelty Free International. We have seen a lot of scientific progress and innovation, supported by initiatives such as the Lush Prize to inspire young scientists to get involved. There’s still so much to do! Many assume that cosmetics testing on animals is a thing of the past, but it’s still a significant global challenge needing continued investment, innovation and international collaboration to ensure much-needed progress. An important challenge is the fact that many in vitro tests still use animal components such as serum, tissue extracts and antibodies, which can create difficulties in creating a truly animal free testing strategy. Thank you for all the continued support you give towards this cause. Together we can build back better post-pandemic. About XCellR8: We are a UK based, vegan testing lab. We only use human cell culture to carry out testing and we are committed to ensuring no animal cell culture, such as animal-based serums, tissues or antibodies, are used for our tests.
