'I get asked all the time how to become a cosmetic chemist / formulator...what kind of degree you need and how you learn how to make products.   Option#1: get a job in a cosmetic factory and learn (degree 90% of the times is required).  Option #2: take an online course which will cover the basics (for example the Formula Botanica one).  Option #3: take recipes you find online and try to reproduce them.   Resources.  Reddit has a huge subreddit for people who want to learn how to make their own beauty products.
