'If you\'re wondering how to build a food truck or trailer, here is a quick guide on how to wire one up. I highly recommend you call an electrician to do the work. Make sure you do your load calculations to figure out how big a generator and cord you need to power your truck. This particular Coffee truck was engineered to run multiple refrigerators, coffee machines, toasters, and an espresso machine. It was built to satisfy it\'s power demands: E x I = P so 250 V x 50 A = 12,500 Watts Max. Since it is continuous power, then you should figure on running at no more than 80%. So 10,000 Watts. This required a top of the line Generator north of $2k that has to sit 50+ feet away from the food truck, to avoid excessive Db noise and fumes. This makes for an expensive 6/4 SOOW extension cord. Costs that need to be kept in mind when planning your setup. Figure on 24-28 hours labor for a basic setup like this. To ease up on fuel costs, I installed a 2nd complete electrical system in the truck to run off of a normal 120 V extension cord plugged into a nearby building. This additional set of outlets is wired to the 15 A breaker in it\'s own disconnect. The two electrical systems, don\'t tie together at all within the food trailer.
