'Does your Cuisinart Food Processor not want to come apart after using it? Watch the very beginning of this video to see the fix. Dehydrated Shredded Potatoes: 10 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes fills 7 round Nesco trays and 5 Cabella’s trays that are abt 10\" x 20\" rectangular. Mine took about 12 hours to dehydrate. Yukon Golds do not go mushy when rehydrated like Russets. Clean potatoes very well and remove any questionable spots. Run them thru the shredder of a food processor filling one container at a time. Those get put into cool salt water (1 Tblsp per 2 qts water) to keep them from browning, at least 5 to 10 minutes, usually while waiting for their turn through the blanching process. Blanch for 3 to 5 minutes then drain and rinse with cool tap water (or not) then spread them on the mesh that goes onto a dehydrator tray. Can use parchment paper on a tray. Dehydrate at 135 degrees for 4 - more hours or whatever works for your climate. Mine took about 12 hours. After dehydrating let cool then vacuum seal in canning jars or FoodSaver bags. Store in a cool dry place, especially out of direct sunlight. To rehydrate them, simply soak in cool water for at least 30 minutes or until tender and fry up a batch of hash browns. FYI: Caution, do not use any non-approved, non food safe plastic or screen mesh on your dehydrator trays. The heat in the dehydrator will trigger the release of toxic BPA’s et al. Even “microwave safe” plastics can leach BPA. Some migrate more of the chemicals into food when the plastics are heated, washed in the dishwasher, or cut/scratched, like what can occur when you use a fork or knife in the container. How to Spot BPA-free Products: Polycarbonates like BPA have the #7 plastics stamp on the bottom of bottles and tubs. Just look for marketing language on packages to let you know this plastic is made without the chemical. How to Spot BPS-free Products: It’s tough to find BPS-free food storage containers. BPS is used in polycarbonates and falls into the ambiguous #7 plastics category. Phthalates are a type of plasticizer added to plastics ingredients to make them soft and flexible. They are part of a group of plastics called polyvinyl chloride (PVC). They’re found in plastic wraps and some commercial food containers. They’re especially prominent in commercial plastic wraps. PVC plastics get the #3 marking. Avoid using any plastics ingredients with your food that contain this number. Fast-food Wrappers: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs, also sometimes called PFCs) are synthetic chemicals that are used in a number of products to make them more grease, stain, and water-resistant. Unfortunately, PFASs are associated with cancer, thyroid disease, and developmental problems, in addition to other health issues. These substances, also called fluorinated chemicals, are found in grease-resistant food packaging, or fast-food wrappers, pizza boxes, and microwave popcorn bags. Need I go on??? I do not get any kind of commission or kickback for suggesting anyone or any product. I just get a kick out of sharing things I like with others. Thanks for watching and please comment and subscribe. Be safe!!!'
